Brode will now join the “What’s Cookin’ with Erik and Jack show, on which he recently has been a frequent guest, on Thursday mornings at 7:30 A.M. Pacific Time, 9:30 A.M. Central Time, and 10:30 A.M. Eastern Time.  The subject of the first session will be RAQUEL WELCH, “The Forgotten Films.” Everyone, of course, remembers Raquel for her appearance in One Million Years B.C. and the phenomenal poster that featured her in an animal skin bikini.  Doug Brode will recall what he considers Raquel’s most impressive acting performances in movies that are less well remembered but very much worth seeking out.  Jessica Schiffhauer -  Head Dog Trainer  “The 101 Dalmatian Musical,”
As part of its national tour, “The 101 Dalmatian Musical,” sponsored by Purina Dog Chow, will be stopping in New York City for a 12-day run at the Theater at Madison Square Garden beginning April 7. The family-friendly musical, along with its human cast, features 15 rescued Dalmatians throughout the show and employs several nationally renowned trainers to prepare the dogs for each performance as well as care for the canine stars while travelling across the country. We have the head trainer, Jessica Schiffhauer, and Rascal, a featured dog in the production, available Wednesday, April 7th (opening day) for an interview. Rascal, a 1-year-old Dalmatian, has come from being rescued as a puppy with a broken leg to holding role in a nationally-touring musical.

Pop History of  "The Locomotion" 

"The Loco-Motion" is a 1962 popular music song written by American songwriters Gerry Goffin and Carole King. The song is notable for appearing the American Top 5 three times – each time in a different decade: for Little Eva during 1962 (U.S. #1); for Grand Funk Railroad in 1974 (U.S. #1); and for Kylie Minogue in 1988 (U.S. #3).  The song is a popular and enduring example of the dance-song genre: much of the lyrics are devoted to a description of the dance itself, usually done as a type of line dance. However, the song came before the dance.  "The Loco-Motion" is ranked #350 on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of "the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".  "The Loco-Motion" is also one of only nine songs to reach US #1 by two different artists. The widely-believed story of how the song "The Loco-Motion" came to be is that Carole King was playing music at home and Eva Boyd was doing some chores and started dancing to it; the dance The Loco-Motion was born. However, this is not true. Eva Boyd was introduced to Goffin and King and they realized she had a good singing voice, so they had her record "The Loco-Motion." Carole King stated this during an interview on National Public Radio (NPR) shortly after Little Eva died.

Tommy James  - "Me, the Mob  and the Music"
The music of Tommy James is played continuously, everyday, in every country in the world, and has been for more than a generation. His songs are so ingrained in modern culture, it's difficult to go for more than a day or so without hearing one of them on the radio, TV, or a film soundtrack. To date, Tommy's sold over 100 million records and has been awarded 23 gold singles, and nine gold and platinum albums. He was born Thomas Jackson on April 29, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio, his family finally settled in Niles, Michigan, which he still regards as his hometown, where he made his first stage appearance as a child model at age four. In 1959, at the age of 12, he formed his first rock band, "The Tornadoes", and began playing local gigs around the area, developing a sizeable following along the way. In 1964 a local DJ asked Tommy and the group to sign with his new regional label, "Snap Records". Among the four sides they recorded was an obscure song written by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich called "HANKY PANKY". The group changed their name to "The Shondells" and released it as a single. It was an instant local hit but didn't break nationally and was soon forgotten. Tommy then added producers Bo Gentry and Ritchie Cordell to the team who, over the next two years, produced seven more back-to-back gold singles: I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW, MIRAGE, I LIKE THE WAY, GETTIN' TOGETHER, OUT OF THE BLUE, GET OUT NOW, and the party rock rave-up, MONY MONY. In 1968, Tommy James and The Shondells became one of the first acts to experiment with Music Videos of their hits, creating a mini-film around "Mony Mony," thirteen years before MTV hit the airwaves. After spending three months on the road with Vice President Hubert Humphrey's Presidential campaign, TJ and company took over the creative reins of their career by writing and producing their next record, the groundbreaking CRIMSON AND CLOVER album. Released in early 1969, it went multi-platinum, and spawned three more monster hits for the group: DO SOMETHING TO ME, CRIMSON AND CLOVER, and CRYSTAL BLUE PERSUASION. A fourth song on the LP, SUGAR ON SUNDAY, rose high on the charts in a cover version by The Clique. Tommy did so as a solo act, writing and producing the million selling single TIGHTER, TIGHTER for the group Alive 'N Kickin". Over the next four years Tommy scored an additional twelve chart singles including: COME TO ME, BALL AND CHAIN, I'M COMIN' HOME and DRAGGIN' THE LINE.

Anoop Desai (born December 20, 1986) is an American singer who was a contestant on the eighth season of American Idol, placing 6th. Desai has credited his decision to audition for American Idol to the death of a friend, Eve Carson, who was murdered. During the broadcast of the wild card round on March 5, 2009, he gave a "shout out" to his alma mater and mentioned Eve, as it was the first anniversary of her death. Desai is the second Indian American to advance to the final stages of the popular reality show, the first being Season 6's Sanjaya Malakar. The NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship is a single elimination tournament held each spring in the United States, featuring 65 college basketball teams, both conference champions and at-large selections. The tournament, organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), was created in 1939 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and was the brainchild of Kansas coach Phog Allen[1][2] Held mostly in March, it is informally known as March Madness or the Big Dance; the national semifinals (the Final Four) have become one of the nation's most prominent sporting events.  Since its inception, the tournament bracket has included conference tournament champions from each Division I conference, which receive automatic bids. The remaining slots are at-large berths, with teams chosen by an NCAA selection committee. The selection process and tournament seedings are based on several factors, including team rankings, win-loss records and RPI data. The two lowest-seeded teams compete in the "opening round game" to determine which will join the other 63 teams in the first round of the tournament.  A Most Outstanding Player award is given by the Associated Press at the end of each tournament. At 11 national titles, UCLA holds the record for the most NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championships. The University of Kentucky is second, with 7 national titles, while Indiana University and the University of North Carolina are tied for third with 5 national titles.The tournament is televised on CBS in the United States, except for the opening round.
