Elephant Team - In Defense of Animals will release a city document exposing a cost overrun on construction of the highly controversial Pachyderm Forest project. The new exhibit is only 10 percent complete and already has incurred more than $1 million in additional costs. Sponsored by IDA, this first-ever international day will include events in 30 cities and seven countries aimed at educating the public about the plight of elephants in zoos. Actress Lily Tomlin issued a statement supporting the event and urging compassionate people to join in.
