Paul Huljich (HUE –LICH) - “Betrayal of Love & Freedom”
Author Paul Huljich - the Bipolar Man Who Cured Himself - Responds to the World Health Organization's Report That by the Year 2020, Severe Depression Will Be the Largest Cause of Death and Disability in the World Paul Huljich (“HUE- LICH”) who was one of the pioneers of the world’s organic food movement now splits his time between New York City and his native birth land of Auckland, New Zealand, is the founder of a new U.S. non-profit, MWellA (Mind Wellness Awareness program), and the author of a new novel heavily based on his real life, “Betrayal of Love & Freedom” He lived in a mansion with an indoor pool with his wife and three children. By the age of 45 he had a mental breakdown and lost most of the life he’d worked relentlessly to build. But he never stopped fighting for a cure or for some way to get a handle on what was happening to him. Paul’s meteoric rise was as surprising as his downfall. He dropped out of college after one year to start a fruit juice distribution company. At the same time he was growing the business, he began to invest in real estate, buying run down apartments and houses, renovating and reselling them. Over time, he developed a variety of small and medium-sized business interests in various industries. As an early advocate of organic and natural foods he started a business in 1985 with his brothers, Best Corporation. Paul served as chairman and co-CEO. Six years after its formation, it was listed on the stock exchange with an initial market capitalization of $36 million. A multi-national food corporation acquired it just 2 ½ years later when its market capitalization reached $137 million. A few years later, in 1998, Paul was diagnosed Bipolar Disorder, also known as manic depression. He experienced a full mental breakdown that year, lost his rights as a New Zealand citizen and was declared a ward of the state.
