8/31 - Larry Manetti, Mark Sisson,

Larry Manetti  "Aloha Magnum"
Larry Manetti started acting in his hometown of Chicago. After studying acting with the Ted List Theater Players, Larry drove to Los Angeles in 1972. Larry landed an agent and was sent to Universal Studios to audition for an opening as a contract player. Luck was on his side. Jack Webb was casting a new series for NBC called The Chase. Larry played a young detective. After attending acting school at Sal Dano's at night and doing bit parts by day, he scored. Baa Baa Black Sheep was being produced and cast at Universal, and the now famous writer Stephen J. Cannell was the executive producer and the role was a natural for Larry. He was cast as a cocky, hot shot pilot named Bobby Boyle. The show was a big hit for NBC but was cancelled within two years. Because the network was so impressed with Larry's on-screen presence, they cast him in a new series called The Duke. Bad luck! The Duke was cancelled in one year. Larry was back to playing whatever Universal told him to. Hoping to catch lighting in a jar, along came Magnum, P.I. and the role of Rick. This was his elevator...the show became a mega-hit for 8 years. Since Magnum, P.I., Larry has done co-starring roles in 25 feature films and guest starred on many hot TV shows. Larry is the author of a book titled Aloha Magnum. As for the future ... just follow his jet stream!

Mark Sisson  - "The Primal Cookbook"
The popularity of the low carb/paleo/Primal way of eating has exploded, as people discover an appealing and sustainable alternative to the restrictive diets and flawed conventional wisdom that lead to burnout and failed weight loss efforts. The dream of eating satisfying meals-even on a budget-controlling weight and feeling great has now become a reality. As you build momentum for Primal eating, you'll find that you won't even miss the bland, boring, low-fat foods that previously were the central focus of your diet. How can you argue with a menu that includes Roasted Leg of Lamb with Herbs and Garlic, Salmon Chowder with Coconut Milk, Tomatoes Stuffed with Ground Bison and Eggs, and Baked Chocolate Custard? This isn't a crash course diet. These and the other Primal recipes provide the foundation for a lifetime of delicious, healthy eating, high energy and protection from common health problems that arise from eating SAD (Standard American Diet). Former world-class endurance athlete (2:18 marathon, 4th place Hawaii Ironman), BA degree in biology (Williams College), former Anti-doping Commissioner of International Triathlon Union and its liaison to the IOC, founder and CEO of Primal Nutrition, Inc., owner/founder of MarksDailyApple.com a top-ranked health and fitness blog with 3 million page views per month, and author of The Primal Blueprint. Mark is credited with spearheading the worldwide 'Primal' health movement that challenges many well-accepted elements of conventional wisdom.

8/25 - Cal Ripkin, Jr, Rod Silva, Joey and Melissa Maggiore

Cal Ripken Jr - Baseball  Legend
Calvin Edwin "Cal" Ripken, Jr. (born August 24, 1960) is a former Major League Baseball shortstop and third baseman who played his entire career (1981–2001) for the Baltimore Orioles.  During his baseball career, he earned the nickname "Iron Man" for doggedly remaining in the lineup despite numerous minor injuries and for his reliability to "show up" to work every day. He is perhaps best known for breaking New York Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig's record for consecutive games played, a record many deemed unbreakable. Ripken surpassed the 56-year-old record when he played in his 2,131st consecutive game on September 6, 1995 between the Orioles and the California Angels in front of a sold-out crowd at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. To make the feat even more memorable, Ripken hit a home run in the previous night's game that tied Gehrig's record and another home run in his 2,131st game, which fans later voted as Major League Baseball's "Most Memorable Moment" in MLB history. Ripken played in an additional 502 straight games over the next three years, and his streak ended at 2,632 games when he voluntarily removed his name from the lineup for the final Orioles home game of the 1998 season.[4] His record 2,632 straight games spanned over seventeen seasons, from May 30, 1982 to September 20, 1998. The "Iron Man" of baseball and one of the most famous All Stars of the game -  Cal Ripken, Jr. -just turned 50 yesterday! Yes, even "Iron Man" Cal Ripken, Jr. can't stop the hands of time. Now Cal wants to spread the word and inspire his peers to become caretakers of  their hearts. 8/16 - Aarti Sequeira , Paula Munier, Sofía Vergara

Aarti Sequeira  - Next Food Network Star
Aarti, 31 (Los Angeles, Calif.), a former CNN producer who later trained at The New School of Cooking in Los Angeles, experiments adventurously with Indian flavors and incorporates them into American classics. She has taught at her alma mater and now has an online cooking show called “Aarti Paarti.” Born in India and raised in Dubai, Aarti draws culinary inspiration from her cultural background, her mother and never-ending food experiments. The star of her own food blog brought that passion for cooking in front of the cameras, overcoming more experienced chefs and self doubt. Her culinary point of view is infusing Indian flavors and techniques into everyday American cooking.  The final challenge was taping a three minute pilot (directed by Food Network personality Rachael Ray), which would then be judged by a focus group. Sequeira's nerves were almost her undoing for a bit there, but after a little advice from Ray, she pulled it together and delivered a charming and upbeat pilot. All three finalists received positive reactions from the focus group, although one person mentioned Sequeira seemed to be rushing.  She won't get to rest on her laurels for long. In a week's time, her show "Aarti Paarti" will debut on the Food Network. We're not too worried about Pizzica or Mesa. Paula Munier has been a dog person her whole life. Raised by a father with a penchant for Weimaraners, Vizslas, and Great Danes, she got her first dog of her own on her tenth birthday--a black miniature poodle named Rogue. Since then she has shared her life with numerous dogs, cats, fish, and a bearded lizard, all of which together caused far less trouble than just one small beagle named Freddie. There are bad dogs--and then there are bad beagles. In this hilarious and heartwarming memoir, single mother Paula Munier takes on the world's worst beagle--and loses every time. She tries everything to fix Freddie--but nothing really works. As her youngest son grows up and prepares to leave her soon-to-be empty nest, Paula's worst fear is that after more than thirty years of raising kids, she'll be left all alone--with Freddie.

Though long associated with the southern United States, the chain has since expanded into much of the nation (see map below). Larry Manetti - "Aloha Magnum"
Larry is the author of a book titled Aloha Magnum"

8/10 - Lindsay Albanese, Gordon Hunt,

LINDSAY ALBANESE (Judge, Oxygen's "Hair Battle Spectacular")
Fantasy hair is all about pushing the limits of traditional hairstyling. It can include the use of clothing, ornaments, and props to achieve the desired look, and it's almost always pulled to the top of the head. Fantasy hair competition -- which has been around for decades -- pits contestants against each other to create a total look of hair, makeup, and clothing in a limited amount of time.  Hosted by actress Brooke Burns, this competition series pits 10 of America’s hottest stylists against each other to see who can deliver the biggest and best in fantasy hair design.  Part sculpture and part pop art, each challenge requires contestants to create outrageous coifs that resemble everything from multi-layer wedding cakes to toys with moveable pieces. The stylists then enter the ring to present their hair creations in a fully produced, dramatic and stylized performance. After each challenge, the judges -- award-winning fantasy hair designer Derek J, celebrity stylist Lindsay Albanese and a rotating guest judge -- critique the designers on creativity, execution and overall presentation.   In addition to blow-by-blow drama in the arena, there is also the day-to-day drama between the cohabitating stylists who fight each week to stay in the game and win the ultimate prize of $100,000.   "Hair Battle Spectacular" is produced by 3 Ball Productions with JD Roth, Todd Nelson, Adam Greener, and Mike Nichols serving as executive producers.

Ivano Toscani - GM  "Anchor Bar - Buffalo, NY"  On a Friday night in 1964, Dominic Bellissimo was tending bar at the now famous Anchor Bar Restaurant in Buffalo, NY. Late that evening, a group of Dominic's friends arrived at the bar with ravenous appetites. Dominic asked his mother, Teressa, to prepare something for his friends to eat. They looked like chicken wings, a part of the chicken that usually went into the stock pot for soup. Teressa had deep fried the wings and flavored them with a secret sauce. The wings were an instant hit and it didn't take long for people to flock to the bar to experience this new taste sensation. From that evening on, Buffalo Wings became a regular part of the menu at the Anchor Bar.  The phenomenon created in 1964 by Teressa Bellissimo has spread across the globe. Although many have tried to duplicate Buffalo Wings, the closely guarded secret recipe is what makes Frank & Teressa's the proclaimed "Best Wings in the World."
