Her patients are enrolled in research studies at the NIH, and have a range of ocular problems, including medication side effects, cataracts, eye conditions resulting from systemic disease, ocular side effects from the therapies used to treat those diseases. Prior to joining NEI, Dr. Bishop worked as an Army ophthalmologist, where she provided comprehensive eye care to military families and retirees, and ran a refractive surgery center aimed at minimizing soldiers' dependence on glasses during military deployments.
